Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween, everyone!

Mom bought lots of treats, but we had only 12 trick-or-treaters this year! She was so disappointed. We usually have around 50. Now we have lots of leftover treats.
Here I am inspecting the treat bowl. Unfortunately, there is only ONE treat that I like, and you can see it here in the middle of the bowl.
Mom has a tradition of dressing in costume when she goes to work on Halloween. She pulled out her 20s flapper costume that she wore a few years ago. I liked last year's costume better--she was a black cat--but the feather boa on this year's costume is interesting. Last night Mom made herself a faux fur stole to take to work because this outfit is rather skimpy and she didn't want to freeze in the office. The costume also has elbow length black gloves, but Mom forgot to put them on for this photo shoot.

She wanted to get photos with us, but it is difficult to do with the timer function on her el cheapo camera. I was fairly cooperative and she was able to get the two of us in position within the ten seconds. Sorry about the laser beam eyes, but the lighting wasn't very good.

Bathsheba, on the other paw, was more of a challenge. She was mad about having to pose and Mom barely got the shot set up within the time. Grouchy Bathsheba would not allow a second shoot, so this photo was the best she could produce.

I can't believe that Bathsheba won Honorable Mention in the Spicy Vixen category of the Halloween Costume Contest! What were my fellow man cats thinking?
~Jake
I am so proud to have received an honorable mention! Thank you, Rocky, Chase, and all the other wonderful man cats. And thank you, Chase, for the Catster rosette! I know that my entry was unconventional, but I just had to put my paw down about posing in costume this year.

It was very stormy and windy last night (because of Noel), so we only got two groups of kids. And now we have pounds and pounds of candy left. I think my Mommie had better get it out of the house, fast.

I am very happy to see that you were prepared with Temptations in case any kitties came to your house. I tried, but I could not walk that far.

Your mom looks very cute in her flapper outfit. You are not going to believe this, but I just got a flapper suit myself! And it came with a beautiful feather headband, too. I will wear it next Friday!

Congratulations Bathsheba, you are the spiciest of vixens!

Ohh...skittles! The Woman handed out ALL of our candy this year so she's a bit sad she doesn't have any to snack on. We had about 25 or so kids, more than last year but we had to be stingy on our handing out of candy because we wouldn't have had enough.

Your mom looks GREAT in her costume!!

We didn't have as many trick or treaters this year either and mom has a lot of candy left over too. She put a bunch of it in the freezer so she wouldn't eat it. Your mom looks like a real good in her flapper costume.

Did you anticipate my Dare??? I don't think I will let this Halloween costume count as an entry - you'll have to dress her up again!
SO: I Dare You!
Yes, It is ME, Anastasia! Karl was thoughtful enough to put the Dare out on the Day of the Dead, so I can come personally! And if you don't accept the challenge, I might just come again and haunt you, Hahahahahahahahaha!

Your mom looks great! I really like the fev-ver boa. That looks fun to play with.

We only had 13 kids come to our house. We've got lots of candy here, too. But Momma is not complaining about the leftover chocolate...

Love,
Tazo

Your mom does look great. My mom's tradition is to think she's going to dress up and then always has some sort of wardrobe malfunction at the eleventh hour. Oh well.
