A blog by two cats who used to live in the same house in Northern Virginia. Unfortunately, they are both no longer with us.

Happy Halloween, everyone!

Mom has a tradition of dressing in costume when she goes to work on Halloween. She pulled out her 20s flapper costume that she wore a few years ago. I liked last year's costume better--she was a black cat--but the feather boa on this year's costume is interesting. Last night Mom made herself a faux fur stole to take to work because this outfit is rather skimpy and she didn't want to freeze in the office. The costume also has elbow length black gloves, but Mom forgot to put them on for this photo shoot.

Following a record-setting drought, it has been a rainy week since Mom's return. I've been hanging out in the house a lot. When I'm not cuddling with Mom, I like to look out of one of the big windows to watch cat TV. I can see some of the yellow foliage on our hickory tree out front.
Here is a view of that tree from the street. This year isn't too good for colorful leaves. Many leaves whithered and dropped prematurely. The glorious red maples down the street colored and dropped their leaves within a couple of days.

Our great friend Rocky the Gutter Cat is sick.
Bathsheba and I are united in our best wishes for him. Bathsheba is one of his spicy vixens, and I think of him as a role model for geezer ManCats. He really knows how to party with the 'nip. This is one of our favorite photos of him.Labels: Rocky the Gutter Cat
