A blog by two cats who used to live in the same house in Northern Virginia. Unfortunately, they are both no longer with us.
It was a beautiful day today and Mom wanted me to pose with some of the early spring flowers in our garden, but I only reluctantly agreed. Here I am with some yellow (and a few purple) crocus.

Jake: I was a nearly 15 year old tabby who commanded and demanded attention. I used to love to hang around on my deck outside. I developed cancer and died February 5, 2009. I didn't like my sister because she was cranky. Bathsheba: I was a polydactyl 18 year old dilute tortie and white. I used to be a big hunter in my day, but I retired when I went deaf. I developed a rapidly spreading cancer that affected my appetite and I died in the garden in November 2009. I loved my mom the best. Jake was a constant annoyance, but I missed him when he was gone. For a short while I contended with that bothersome kitten Emerson who is now my legacy to the cat blogosphere.

You have some pretty flowers. Rolling around in the grass is some of the best fun a kitty can have.
What great spring photos! When we lived in Virginia, we had purple crocuses too!
That looks like heaven! I wish I could roll around in the grass like that. Very pretty flowers!

Terrific photos. :) Those are pretty flowers. :) We have flowers blooming here in Munich too - the crocuses have bloomed along with some other flowers. And our grass is green, green, green!
