Sad News

Hi, Emerson here with some sad news. My big sister Bathsheba is not well. She has a tumor in her mouth and it is something called squamous cell carcinoma. That's a fancy way of saying she has the dreaded cancer. She is hardly eating. Mommie is very sad about this turn of events. Only something called palliative care is really an option for Sheba now. I will try my best not to be a pest to her.

Love & purrs,
Emerson

We will purr for Bathsheba! Our staff has some friends who lost a cat to the same kind of cancer....very very sad! But every cat is different and as Bathsheba is a bit older the cancer might grow REALLY slow.....
We didn't even know about Mr.. Emerson - just read his story and are very happy that he found such a lovely forever home!

Hi Emerson. We haven't met before, but we saw this message title on Goldie, Shade, and Banshee's web site and hurried over to offer our purrs and prayers. Babka the wondercat who came before all of us had squamous cell carcinoma under his tongue. He had cryosurgery and it worked great for 6 months. Then the cancer became very aggressive and came back. He had surgery again and Meowmy has kicked herself ever since...it did not help and he shouldn't have had to go through that. He was only 13 when he died and was really the best cat in the whole world. She is all leaky-eyed thinking about him, and it was 13 years ago.

We are so sorry about Bathsheba. You will have big job trying to keep up your Mommy's spirits with your handsome kitten ways, but you look up to the task!

purrrs,
Louie, Sylvie, Fuzzy, and Gingy (and the Meowmy)

Many purrs and healing thoughts to Bathsheba so she will have an easy time with the cancer. We've seen our cousin cat go through that same mouth cancer at 17 yrs and he seemed to do well all the way till the end. We are keeping our paws crossed that she has many lovely warm and loving days till it's time to go run and play with the ones who have gone before. Warm hugs to you all.
