Lost Cat

Yesterday's edition of The Washington Post contained an article about a woman searching for her lost cat. She last saw him in December 2003. My Mom says that she would have given up on finding me after a few months. A few months! I disappeared for a couple of weeks on two different occasions in my earlier life. I guess I'm lucky that I didn't stay away any longer or she might have replaced me or something. One of Mom's brother's cats disappeared April 18 and has not returned. They've pretty much given up on finding poor Juni-Purr.

How do you all feel about this? Is the lady in the article a crazy cat lady?

I don't think she's a crazy cat lady. I think she needs closure. It's like when the the beans have a bean go missing. The bean might be presumed dead after a certain period of time, but there's always that thought in the back of the mind that maybe the bean will come home one day. (My mommy can't think of any worse torture for a person than to always be wondering). This woman must have really loved that kitty and she just needs to know that the kitty is either safe at the bridge waiting for her or safe somewhere in this world.

My mom says there used to be an ad in our paper that ran for years and years and years. It was so sad because you knew these people missed their cat a whole bunch and just wanted some sort of word on him.

Me, I don't even like to think about lost cats because it is way too sad to think about.

Michico said she will not giving me up. Although sometime it will be very difficult to find.
Some place, cats are free to live hanging around outside, but in my country are not.

Once street cats have been caught, it will be "disappear" after 2 month.(The unit who caught cats will make ads, but first of all, cat's owner needs to know what unit and find the ad on that unit's website). So, losing cats' owner better make ad at the most popular newspaper, or it will be hard to find cats again.

I live in a tall building, in urban city, so it's difficult to go outside, but, either I don't want to leave michico.

So, staying with momma is the only good idea. I think...

And Bathsheba... it's good to have you back. :)

Yes, the lady in the article actually makes the Lap Lady feel like much less of a crazy cat lady. That is a very very long time to wait!

Yes, it's sad to loose a cat and you always wonder maybe some day. Poor lady. My mom has a fit when I won't come in after me being outside for 2 minutes. we would hate to be separated from our Mom. Have a great weekend.

That lady didn't mention a husband or kids, plus she nurtured that kitty back to health when he was a very sick baby kitten. That kitty was probably like a child to her, plus she might feel responsible for losing him, since she let him outside. We're very sad that he's still lost and we hope she does find him someday.

Sadie gets lost occasionally.

Lost in the house, that is.

Karen doesn't let us outside. She's a little controlling that way. I haven't been outside (other than from the house to the car or vice versa) in years.

Sadie will disappear for hours on end. Sometimes she's in the closet. Sometime she's under the bed. Sometimes she's under the couch. If Karen notices Sadie isn't around, she starts looking for her.

Once I locked Sadie in the bathroom. I know it's mean. But I saw an opportunity and I took it.

So sue me.
